Egg nog
1 cup | whole milk |
3 | large eggs |
3 oz | caster sugar |
2½ oz | brandy |
2½ oz | dark rum |
½ cup | Single cream |
freshly grated nutmeg for garnish |
Whisk the egg yolks and sugar together for a few moments, then slowly add brandy and rum. Heat milk until hot but not boiling. Fold cream into egg mixture, then pour on the heated milk and stir through. Whisk egg whites stiffly and fold into egg nog. Garnish with freshly grated nutmeg.
